Cedarwood & Bergamot Deodorant Balm

Cedarwood & Bergamot Deodorant Balm

The natural deodorant range contains eight variations. This is a unique recipe, developed by myself over a number of months.

Natural deodorants don't contain aluminium, a common ingredient found in commercial anti persipirants.

Q. What is the purpose of aluminium in deodorants?

A. To block your pores and stop you sweating.

Whilst that may sound harmless enough, it isn't actually good for your skin. Why? Your skin needs to breathe, and by blocking the pores you are then trapping all of the bacteria, and this can lead to acne of the armpits.

Aluminium is also absorbed by the skin and can effectively travel within the nodes under the armpit, and beyond.

This deodorant balm contains mostly store-cupboard ingredients, such as bicarbonate of soda, tapioca flour, and coconut oil. The dry ingredients provide a solution to keeping armpits dry, by absorbing the sweat that should be allowed to come out of the pores - the ingredients used have a massive hygroscopic (water absorbing) capacity, so do have a great effect at keeping you dry.

All of the essential oil blends used in the deodorant balms have been specifically chosen for their powerful anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties, and it's these that stop the body's natural bacteria in it's tracks, preventing it from becoming body odour.

The combination of coconut oil, mango and shea butters ensure the balm melts on contact with the underarm, and provides it with ongoing protection against dryness or soreness.

The balm is applied with the tip of the finger, using a transparent layer on your finger tip. You don't need to use a pea-size - less is more. Once applied to warm skin, it will melt and distribute easily. By using your fingers, you will be able to better gauge where the deodorant is being applied, and not randomly distributed in the air by aerosol.
